Updating in progress
This is the archive for the political articles written by its editor and other contributors. Most of the site was previously found at Not Little England but some has been posted elsewhere.
In the meantime, the search functions and categories will, slowly, be updated.
The site is dedicated to democracy, civil liberties and the rule of law. We favour reforming and updating the constitution in a constructive manner, and believe a constitutional convention along the lines of the Scottish Constitutional Convention of the 1990s and the Convention Parliament of 1689 is long overdue. The editor is a member of the Liberal Democrats, but the site is non-partisan and will make alliances with any who support the same causes, on a case by case basis.
We are, generally, not at all impressed with the current Labour Government, rejecting their authoritarian tendencies and duplicitous nature. This does not mean we are opposed to all members of the Labour party, and recognise that many are just as disgusted by the behaviour of the leadership as the rest of the population. We support those members who seek to change things from within.
Editor: Mat Bowles
Mat has a degree in politics from the University of Exeter, is a freelance analyst and marketing consultant, specialising in IT and web presence. He writes extensively on politics here and elsewhere at sites such as Liberal Conspiracy and Lib Dem Voice, and keeps a personal general interest journal.
Contributor: Paul Jones
Paul has a Masters Degree in Critical Global Studies, also from Exeter, and used to share a house with Mat. He is an occasional contributor when he has time and isn’t either busy at work (he’s an IT manager for reasons too obscure to go into given his degree) or playing silly online games.
New contributors welcome
If you would like to contribute on an occasional or regular basis, feel free tom email the editor or mention it when commenting on a general thread. No payments can, currently, be made, as the hosting bill isn’t (yet) covered by the ad revenues. If the situation reverses, then, well, chance’d be a fine thing, this is a labour of love. Democracy matters.
